Hand carved, hand painted wood art by Colombian artist Maria Rosario Salamanca better known as 'Roro'.  Her unique wood designs are each hand drawn, then cut using simple wood tools, hand painted in whimsical colors that light up childrens' eyes.  Roro finds her inspiration from nature and her reward comes as she sees the designs in her imagination come alive.  It gives her a sense of great satisfaction when she watches young kids reach out and feel her adorable animal designs as their little faces light up with joy. 

Born in Colombia, wood art has been a long standing tradition in Roro's family.  Her sister Clara Ines owns an Art School and sells her designs in local markets.  Roro says that her sister has been her teacher and her inspiration, both sharing a love for wood carving and wood art.
